Alice Goisis

I am Associate Professor in Demography at the Centre for Longitudinal Studies located in the UCL Social Science Department. I am also a visiting Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock (Germany). My research interests span a number of substantive areas in social demography and epidemiology. My research has examined the association between advanced maternal age and child well-being, with a particular focus on whether and how it varies across different groups of the population and time periods. I am also interested in understanding the determinants of child obesity and other markers of health, including if they vary by ethnicity. More generally, I am interested in whether, and if so how, family processes are associated with children and adults’ well-being. I am currently the PI on two projects: an ERC Starting Grant to study the effects of Medically Assisted Reproduction on children, adults and parents and an ESRC New Investigator Grant to study only children (families) in the UK.
