Michael Wagner

Michael Wagner is full Professor of Sociology at the University of Cologne. His main research interests are social demography, family sociology, sociology of education – especially deviant behavior in schools and educational attainment -, life course and ageing research, and research methods, mainly meta-analysis. He received his diploma in Sociology from the University of Hamburg and his PhD from the Free University of Berlin. He was research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in the project “Life Courses and Social Change” and principal investigator of the research unit “Sociology and Social Policy” of the Berlin Aging Study. He is full Professor of Sociology since 1998.
