Matthias Rosenbaum-Feldbrügge is a PhD candidate in historical demography at Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands. In his interdisciplinary PhD project, he analyzes the impact of parental death on children’s transition to adulthood using longitudinal individual-level data from the Netherlands in the period 1850-1940. He studies several demographic outcomes such as leaving home, entry into marriage, and social mobility. Moreover, he is interested in height as a proxy for living standard and later-life mortality patterns. His position is part of the LONGPOP-project which is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks.
