Petra Buhr

Petra Buhr, born in 1960, studied sociology at the university of Bielefeld, Germany. Afterwards she was concerned with poverty and social assistance dynamics in the Collaborative Research Centre 186 “Status Passages and Risks in the Life Course” at the University of Bremen where she received her PHD in 1994. Between 1998 and 2008 she worked as a research assistant in several projects in the university and non-university sector. From 2008 to 2018 she was senior researcher in the German Family Panel (pairfam) and worked on fertility expectations and behavior. In April 2018 she changed into the project “Formation and Diffusion of Family Policy in a Global Perspective” which is part of the new Collaborative Research Centre 1342 “Global Dynamics of Social Policy” at the Research Center on Inequality and Social Policy at the University of Bremen.
