Richard Lampard

Richard Lampard is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the Department of Sociology at the University of Warwick. Before coming to Warwick, he studied at the Universities of Durham and Southampton, and Nuffield College, Oxford. In addition to the British Society for Population Studies, he is a member of the British Sociological Association and a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society.

Richard's teaching focuses on demographic/family-related processes and change, and on quantitative methods, and his research interests relate mainly to the processes of formation and dissolution of couple relationships and to social stratification.

His publications include a research monograph focusing on the formerly partnered and repartnering, (coauthor Kay Peggs), and a textbook covering both quantitative and qualitative methods (coauthor Chris Pole), together with articles and book chapters on partner availability, couples’ places of meeting, homogamy, marital dissolution, educational attainment, social mobility, association in cross-tabulations, and feminism and quantitative methods.
