Jenny Liu

Jenny Liu is a health economist focusing on population health in developing countries, with a particular emphasis on the delivery and utilization of maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health (MNCAH) services within mixed health systems. Through a variety of methodological approaches – field experiments, randomized control trials, mixed-methods, secondary data analysis – she has designed and conducted evaluations of programs and interventions using innovative approaches to foster behavior change, conducted a variety of analyses on health labor markets and health services delivery models, and investigated population-level determinants of MNCAH through natural experiment designs. Her current research projects include delivering MNCAH services via community-based providers in Nigeria and Mali, assessing the adoption and market introduction of new reproductive health commodities in Nigeria, developing a program to return young mothers to school in Tanzania, and understanding the impact of exposure to political unrest on adolescent and youth development in Egypt.
