Demographic Research, 36(56): 1721-1758. doi: 10.4054/DemRes.2017.36.56 The data for this analysis comes from 2 waves of the Survey of Young People in Egypt (SYPE). A general description is available from the Population Council: http://www.popcouncil.org/research/survey-of-young-people-in-egypt-2009-and-2014-datasets Our analysis uses 3 datafiles specific datafiles: 1. SYPE_V_1.6.2 with new weights final 2009.dta This dataset can be obtained from the Economic Research Forum’s (ERF) Data Portal: http://www.erfdataportal.com/index.php/catalog. Please register and fill out the data access request form in order to obtain permission to use the data. However, the public file does not contain the following variables: household size (hhsize), employment status (empsts), marital status (evrmarried), and religion. Please contact the survey administrator directly to obtain these variables. 2. SYPE 2014 V4.5.dta This dataset can be obtained from either the ERF’s Data Portal (see above) or from the Harvard Dataverse data repository: https://dataverse.harvard.edu/. Please register and fill out the data access request form in order to obtain permission to use the data. 3. Date and time 2009.dta This dataset contains the following variables necessary to construct the interview date for the 2009 wave: LAST_MEET_YEAR, LAST_MEET_MONTH, LAST_MEET_DAY This dataset must be obtained with special permission from the Population Council.
