**Demographic Research**
This pack contains data and code to reproduce the analyses and Figure 1 of Medford & Trias-Llimós (2020) Population age structure only partially explains the large number of COVID-19 deaths at the oldest ages. 

The files/ links are as follows:
--The code file “analysis Medford and Trias-Llimos.R” includes the code for reproducing the methods and visualize Figure 1.
--The data file “data_2020.05.21.csv” includes death counts and population exposures by 10-year age groups. 
--Original and updated data can be retrieved from the COVerAGE-DB at https://github.com/timriffe/covid_age or https://osf.io/mpwjq/


We do not believe that the indication of how age was reported does matter in our analyses.
R version 4.0.2 was used to run the results.
