Daniël van Wijk

Daniël van Wijk is a researcher (assistant professor/UD) at NIDI whose research focuses on fertility and spatial demography. Much of his recent work aims to advance our understanding of the factors that drive the decline of birth rates in affluent societies after 2010, with contributions focusing on the role of employment, income, and housing conditions. He examines this using advanced quantitative methods and a variety of data sources, including register data, panel surveys, and regional- and country-level data.
