Much of my research experience has involved working with Britain's longitudinal birth cohorts, most notably the 1958 National Child Development Study (NCDS), the 1970 British Cohort Study (BCS70) and the Millennium Cohort Study (MCS). My primary research focus is based on social inequalities, ranging from the antecedents and consequences of poor adult basic skills, childhood disability, out of home care experience and domestic abuse.
