Alícia Adserà
Alicia Adsera is a Senior Research Scholar and Lecturer in Economics at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and serves as Director of Graduate Studies at the Office of Population Research. Her research spans economic demography, development, and international political economy, with a central focus on fertility behavior, and changes in fertility preferences in low-fertility contexts. She also examines how individual employment conditions, local labor markets, and broader institutional settings shape fertility and household formation decisions. Her work addresses migration, exploring immigrant fertility, the role of language in shaping migration flows, as well as the diverse labor market performance of migrants, among other topics. She holds a PhD in Economics from Boston University. Before joining Princeton, she was a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Research Affiliate at the University of Chicago’s Population Research Center
