Andrew Fenelon

Andrew Fenelon completed his PhD in Sociology and Demography at the University of Pennsylvania in 2012. He currently works as a postdoctoral fellow in the Population Studies and Training Center. His research focuses on the social determinants and consequences of health and mortality at the population level. He has focused on the contribution of health behaviors to population-based differentials in health and longevity. He examined the contribution of smoking to the longevity advantages of US immigrants and Hispanic subgroups, and to differences in health performance across US states and regions. His current work traces the evolution of geographic inequalities in health and mortality in the United States.
