Nicole Hiekel (PhD in Sociology, VU University Amsterdam 2014) studies at the intersection of sociology and demography how gender inequalities are produced and reproduced over the course of partnerships and families. She leads the Independent Max Planck Research Group “Gender Inequalities and Fertility” at Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany.
