Brienna Perelli-Harris
Brienna received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Michigan, held a post-doc fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, and was a Research Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany. Brienna is now an Associate Professor of Demography at the University of Southampton, UK, and is a member of the ESRC Centre for Population Change. Currently, she holds a five-year European Research Council starting grant to study the increase in childbearing within cohabitation in industrialised countries. Working in collaboration with researchers across Europe, the USA and Australia, she is using demographic techniques and in-depth qualitative methods to explore the underlying reasons for the development of new family formation behaviours.
