Lina María Sanchez-Cespedes
PhD in Applied Social and Economic Research from the University of Essex, with academic training in Statistics, Economics, and Civil Engineering. She has over 15 years of experience as a researcher and advisor in national and international organisations. In Colombia, she has worked with the National Administrative Department of Statistics, the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare, the National University, and the Agustín Codazzi Geographic Institute. Internationally, she has collaborated with the World Bank, World Food Programme, and UNDP. Her expertise spans survey design, statistical modelling, poverty measurement, demographic analysis, and the use of administrative data. She has developed methodologies and indicators to evaluate social programs, estimate demographic components, and guide public policy. She has led research teams, coordinated academic publications, and published in peer-reviewed journals. Her work reflects a commitment to methodological rigour and social relevance, aiming to improve public decision-making through evidence-based approaches and innovative analytical tools.
