Elena Vakulenko
Elena Vakulenko is a Doctor of Sciences, Professor at the Department of Applied Economics, Faculty of Economic Sciences, at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE University).
Elena teaches Econometrics at HSE University. She defended her PhD thesis on modelling internal migration in Russia at the regional, city, and municipal levels. Her papers examine the factors, barriers, and consequences of internal migration in Russia.
Elena's Doctoral dissertation is dedicated to the analysis of the macroeconomic mechanisms of the Russian labour market and the intensity of population migration in Russia, considering their interconnection.
One of Elena's research areas focuses on forecasting international migration using Internet search query statistics. Her current research focuses on analysing factors of reproductive behaviour among Russians.
