Laurent Toulemon

Laurent Toulemon has been in charge of several population surveys in France, on family structures, fertility behaviour, contraceptive practice and recourse to abortion. He worked in the French institute of statistics in 1997-2000, being in charge of the annual Demographic report and population projections, as well as on surveys on family and disabilities. He led the INED research unit “Fertility, Families, sexuality” from 2009 to 2017, and was Editor of the journal Population from 2008 to 2017. He is member of the French Statistical Confidentiality Committee (Comité du secret statistique). His current works deal, on the one hand, with the quality of census and surveys, regarding population counts and family situations description and, on the other hand, with fertility behaviour and family changes in Europe. He is part of the Generations and Gender Programme (GGP) steering Committee, www.ggp-i.org, and in charge, together with Milan Bouchet-Valat, of the French GGS survey.
